We personally establish government, not via surveys: Mann, the AAP leader

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, said that while pre-election surveys may not fully reflect the popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party, the party’s real performance directly aids in forming government. Mann also predicted that the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections would be unexpected.

Senior AAP politician Mann, who is a member of the INDIA group, also rejected the BJP’s “Abki Baar 400 Paar” campaign slogan on Wednesday, calling it “rhetorical” (referring to the saffron party-led NDA’s assertion that it would win more than 400 Lok Sabha seats).

He said that jailing Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal over the excise policy issue in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections demonstrated both despotism and a plot by the governing party.

This is a conspiracy as well as an autocrat. Mann said, “This is the BJP’s strategy to imprison opposition leaders before elections.”

“A jumla is 400 pairs, abki. Why didn’t the BJP mention this in Delhi during the 2020 assembly elections? Furthermore, who is to say how many seats they will win? The 140 crore individuals who make up India will choose who is allotted seats. This nation is not someone’s private property, he insisted.

Mann was speaking with the media during a roadshow he organized in Bharuch, Gujarat, to promote AAP candidate Chaitar Vasava.

“We avoid going to surveys. We directly shape the government. Nobody had any idea that we would win in Punjab or Delhi. Nobody anticipated that the AAP would win the Chandigarh mayoral elections or that five of our MLAs would win in Gujarat. After witnessing the results, those who think that this is their nation will be shocked this time, the speaker said.

When asked about the BJP’s electoral platform, Mann said that he believed Kejriwal initiated the practice of offering promises to people before the polls.

Kejriwal used to be the one who offered assurances. The AAP leader said that the BJP had begun discussing assurances on its platform out of fear.

He emphasized that the AAP convener was the one who initiated the conversation of building infrastructure, including schools and hospitals.

“Arvind Kejriwal has taught us to speak about schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and electricity instead of engaging in caste-based politics. They only propagate animosity. The Chief Minister took a swipe at the BJP, saying, “We are a secular party while they are stuck in the mud of caste-based politics.”

In the tribal-dominated Bharuch Lok Sabha constituency, the BJP’s six-term MP Mansukh Vasava will face up against young tribal leader Chaitar Vasava, a current AAP MLA.

On May 7, votes in all 26 of Gujarat’s Lok Sabha seats will be cast in a single phase.

Following the roadshow, Chaitar Vasava was full of optimism that he would win.

“We have no doubts that I will be elected. Mansukh Vasava was granted 25 years by the people, however, he did not solve important concerns facing this area, such as inadequate facilities for education, unemployment and bad health. The AAP MLA said that he had also failed to assist the community in receiving just compensation for land that the government had taken.

The AAP candidate said that it would be futile to provide the BJP Lok Sabha MP from Bharuch with an additional five years.

“I have no doubt that this time, they will vote for me. We aim to guarantee everyone’s progress and provide Bharuch with the status of a municipal corporation,” said Chaitar Vasava.
