When Spiti village finally receives a telecom network, the PM addresses the locals

In the Spiti valley of the Lahaul-Spiti region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chatted with the locals on Thursday after the area was first linked to a mobile phone network.

During a phone discussion that lasted over 13 minutes, Modi discussed his visit to the border area around Diwali. He said that the “Digital India” campaign would go more quickly if the hamlet is connected to the telecom network.

“After the electrification exercise proved successful, the government is now giving priority to connecting all locations with communication technology,” Modi said. He said that as than 18,000 villages were without power when he was appointed prime minister.

When the hamlet was informed that it will be linked to the mobile phone network, a villager told the prime minister that they were ecstatic and could not contain their joy when it eventually occurred. He said that before, they had to go around 8 miles in order to use their phones.

Modi emphasized the “Vibrant Village Program,” which is his government’s initiative to promote development in border regions.

After focusing people’s comfort of living so far, Modi indicated that in his third term he would concentrate on improving people’s quality of life, which would help the middle class, the impoverished, and distant areas.
