Who Will Become Rajasthan’s, MP’s, and Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister? There’s Still No Clarity, BJP May Select Observers Today: References

In the most recent Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) easily defeated the Congress party in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, placing them in a distant second place. But even as rumors and tension mount, the BJP has not yet revealed the chief ministers’ identities in any of the three states. The BJP ran their candidates for chief minister in each of the three states without announcing a candidate.

JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, was seen on Thursday leaving Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s home in the nation’s capital after an important meeting. Earlier in Bhopal, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that the final decision on the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan would be made on December 10. However, he did not reveal if the party will choose leaders from among the recently elected MLAs or appoint outsiders. According to sources, the BJP is expected to choose three observers for each of the three states. The observers may be sent to supervise the newly elected MLAs’ sessions in the three states, where they will choose their leaders.

Vasundhara Raje, a prominent member of the BJP and a former chief minister of Rajasthan, paid Nadda a visit at his house in the national capital on Thursday, amidst the frenzied speculation about the BJP’s choices for chief minister in these three states. Two-time chief minister Vasundhara Raje, Vidyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari, Tijara constituency winner Mahat Balak Nath, and Jhotwara constituency winner Rajyavarardhan Singh Rathore are thought to be the leading candidates for the position in Rajasthan.

On the day of the counts for the four states that held their assembly elections last month, the BJP won handily in the heartland of Hindi. Not only did the BJP defeat its opponents in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, but it also surprised several pollsters who had projected close elections in these states. After fighting for over 20 years in power in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP emerged victorious with 163 seats, while the Congress came in a distant second with 66 seats. In contrast to several pollsters’ predictions, the Rajasthan vote total showed the BJP set to assume the government with 115 seats, while the Congress trailed behind with 69 seats. In Chhattisgarh, out of 90 assembly seats, the BJP won 54 and the Congress, 35.
