With Vasundhara Raje or Balak Nath in jeopardy in Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot pokes fun at the BJP by saying, “If Congress…”

The Bharatiya Janata Congress leader came under fire on Saturday from outgoing Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot for not announcing the state’s future chief minister even one week after the assembly election results were announced.

The BJP would have spoken louder if the Congress had not chosen a chief minister for such a long time. I was required to sign a form in the Gogamedi case indicating that I had no objections to the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) investigation. It was incumbent on the incoming chief minister to take this on. They (the BJP) have been unable to choose a chief minister for the last seven days. I urge them to decide swiftly,” Gehlot told reporters.

Gehlot said that the BJP lacked discipline, saying, “They (the BJP) have not been able to declare CM faces in the three states for the last seven days. I’m not sure what accusations they would have made against us and how they would have misled people if we had followed suit. The polls were polarized by them. We’ll work with the incoming administration,” the Congressman said.

A number of well-known figures are surfacing as possible candidates for the Rajasthan chief ministerial position as the BJP works through its internal debates.

The leading candidates are considered to be two-time chief minister Vasundhara Raje, Vidyadhar Nagar MLA Diya Kumari, Tijara seat winner Mahat Balak Nath, and Jhotwara constituency winner Rajyavarardhan Singh Rathore.

While rumors about the BJP’s choices for chief minister persisted, Raje, a former chief minister of Rajasthan, paid Nadda a visit on Thursday at his home in the nation’s capital.

On the day of the counts for the four states that held their assembly elections last month, the BJP won handily in the heartland of Hindi.

Not only did the BJP defeat its opponents in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, but it also surprised several pollsters who had projected close elections in these states.

The results of the vote count in Rajasthan showed a very different picture from what some pollsters had projected, with the Congress lagging at 69 seats and the BJP looking certain to establish the government with 115 seats.

“The election results are now public. Local concerns should be the focus of state elections, as I had previously said. Any shortcomings in the work completed during our five-year mandate should have been brought up by the prime minister or the home minister. However, when campaigning, they emphasized matters like the murder of Kanhaiya Lal rather than bringing up these concerns. “They (BJP leaders) created division in the election,” Gehlot said on Saturday.
