Eden Hazard will depart Real Madrid after a miserable four-year stint

Eden Hazard, who has had a miserable four years in La Liga since joining from Chelsea, will depart Real Madrid at the conclusion of the current campaign after agreeing to finish his contract a year early, the club said on Saturday. The 32-year-old former international for Belgium joined Real in 2019 and established a record for the most expensive acquisition in club history in Spain, but he has had trouble adjusting to life at the Santiago Bernabeu due to a number of injury issues.

The player will be let go from Real Madrid C. F. as of June 30, 2023, according to an agreement the two parties made. Real Madrid wishes Eden Hazard and his whole family well in this new phase and wants to convey its love for him.

Hazard earned many awards while playing at Real, including two LaLiga championships and the Champions League. Due to his limited playing time in the 2022–23 season and the fact that he hasn’t played 90 minutes for the team since December 2021, his performance for both club and nation suffered. He decided to give up playing for his country after having a very bad World Cup in Qatar with Belgium, who were eliminated in the pool stage.

One of the most paid players on the squad, Hazard joined Real from Chelsea for a club record price that was reported as an initial sum of 88.5 million pounds ($110 million) before add-ons. Given that coach Carlo Ancelotti anticipates a number of new faces to join, Real may be able to seek a new striker if the midfielder’s salary is removed off the payroll for the next campaign.

Additionally, Ancelotti downplayed the likelihood that forward Karim Benzema would leave the team. “The team for next season will be different overall since numerous contracts are coming to an end. There are contracts that expire, and new players will be involved. The team, though, will be fiercely competitive. The first year of his contract is still in effect, and he is prepared to play tomorrow (against Athletic Club). We are quite certain of that,” he told reporters on Saturday.

The exits of striker Mariano Daz and offensive midfielder Marco Asensio have already been announced by Real.
