Eric Ramsay has been appointed head coach of Minnesota United

NEW DELHI: Eric Ramsay was appointed by Minnesota United as their new head coach, bringing the search to an end one game into the MLS regular season. This choice was made after the retirement of previous head coach Adrian Heath and a protracted period of transition. Ramsay, who is still seeking his work visa, has extensive expertise from his time as manager Erik ten Hag’s first-team coach at Manchester United in the English Premier League.

Ramsay expressed his delight for the new position and his joy at joining a team that has a strong infrastructure, a passionate fan base, and a rich football culture. He acknowledged the potential route outlined for the club’s future and stressed the organization’s united determination to move it ahead. This attitude conveys optimism and a will to capitalize on the team’s current advantages and set itself up for long-term success.

Heath’s exit from Minnesota United, which had been with the team since its MLS founding in 2017, signaled a big change in the organization. Sean McAuley, an interim coach, held the role shortly after his departure until leaving in January. After that, the squad was led by temporary coach Cameron Knowles to a successful season-opening match against Austin FC.

Khaled El-Ahmad was named chief soccer officer by Minnesota United, which strengthened its executive team along with the coaching hire. These calculated actions highlight the team’s resolve to strengthen its organizational structure and promote an excellent culture off the field as well. With Ramsay leading the club into a new chapter, the stage is set for an exciting journey filled with a revitalized sense of ambition and a shared resolve to take Minnesota United to new heights in the MLS.
