Former Pakistani cricketer Rohit Sharma Hit the ICC Directly and Behind the Scenes in “ICC vs. BCCI”

After Indian captain Rohit Sharma questioned the timing of the World Test Championship Final and voiced his unhappiness with Shubman Gill wicket’s decision, former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif believes that something is wrong between the ICC and BCCI. At the press conference at the Oval in London after India’s humiliating 209-run loss to Australia in the WTC Final, Rohit, the captain, took questions from the media.

The Indian skipper was questioned over the final’s timing and if the ICC should have a best-of-three match for the WTC champion to give both sides a fair shot after participating in the competition for more than two years.

The best-of-three final, according to Rohit, would be great for the next WTC cycle.

“After all the effort, over the course of two years, it would be wonderful to compete over three Tests, thus I would like a best-of-three final for the World Test Championship. But for that, we need to locate a window. Three Tests in the next cycle would be excellent, Rohit had added.

The Indian captain also urged that the final be held somewhere other than England.

“The WTC final is not just played in June. Not only in England, but anyone in the globe could play it.

He also criticized the umpires over Shubman Gill’s judgment, claiming that although they examine 10 different angles during IPL matches, they only examined 4 angles during crucial matches like the World T20.

More camera views need to have been shown. Only one or two camera perspectives were shown. In IPL, there are ten distinct angles. I don’t know why there wasn’t any hyper motion or zoomed picture at a major global event like this, he had added.

When Rohit suggested holding the WTC Final in England in June, the former Pakistan wicketkeeper Latif said he was criticizing the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“He explicitly questioned the ICC. “Why June?” I had already made the same statement. Why just in England, you ask? To whom was he divulging all of this? Latif said on his own YouTube account, “ICC, of course.

Latif said that Rohit’s remarks on Gill’s dismissal implied an ICC vs. BCCI conflict.

Shubman Gill mentioned the absence of camera angles in relation to his catch. He struck the ICC squarely. Behind the scenes, ICC and BCCI are at odds. There is no ICC announcement on the 38.5 percent rise that you heard about (claim that BCCI would get 38.5 percent of ICC’s profits). It was an online report. Who was the author? Conflict of interest exists, he continued.
