India hopes to finish the series against Bangladesh in the third Twenty20 International

When India plays host Bangladesh in the third women’s T20 International in Sylhet on Thursday, they will be looking to extend their commanding 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

India will go into the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium hoping to write the same story that they did in the previous two matches, when they not only showed up but outperformed their opponents on every front.

The bowling team has been playing well together, limiting Bangladesh to low totals thanks to economical spinners Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, and Shreyanka Patil.

Renuka Singh Thakur has been outstanding with the ball in the first innings in terms of speed, while Pooja Vastrakar has also been useful.

What: Third Twenty20: India vs. Bangladesh

When: Thursday, May 2.

Where: The stadium for international cricket in Sylhet

Time of Start: 3:30 PM IST

Dayalan Hemalatha, who is playing her first international match after an almost 17-month break, showed off her powerful batting during the powerplay in the previous game, hitting an undefeated forty-one off only 24 balls.

Those with experience include Richa Ghosh, Yastika Bhatia, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Shafali Verma. Star opener Smriti Mandhana would want to regain form, however.

India will be looking for more of the same in the next few games, as they have depended on a cohesive team effort throughout this series.

Given that Bangladesh will host the T20 World Cup later this year, the series takes on more significance.

Conversely, the hosts want to enhance their performance on each of the three fronts. Their bowlers haven’t had great outings, their fielding has been lacking, and their hitters haven’t been able to reach high totals.
