Indian Women’s League 2: Twelve players go back home, leaving Bahadurgarh with only eight players

Panaji: After using crowd fundraising to raise funds, City Bahadurgarh FC travelled to Goa for the Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2. They managed to gather just enough money to cover their costs for the second-tier competition from locals and supporters all throughout the nation.
Nevertheless, the hope of the Haryana winners was dashed before the group stage could finish when twelve of its players quit the team to compete in the Haryana State Senior Women’s Championship.

There are now only eight players available for Saturday’s championship match versus Khad FC.
We are struggling and in trouble right now since the Haryana State Senior Women’s Championship caused twelve of our players to withdraw from the tournament. As of right now, we only have eight players available for the upcoming game. Manager Vinay Joon sent a letter to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for guidance.

The manager said that the players departed in two groups. Three hours later, some of them packed their things and headed home, while the other seven departed the team hotel around three in the morning on Wednesday.

Bahadurgarh is at the bottom of the pool after losing all three of their previous games.
The club manager, Vinay, told TOI, “We are a new club and reached here after great difficulties, but this is a new experience for us.” We need to learn from this experience. The participants said that since the dates conflict, we are powerless to stop them from leaving to compete in the inter-district state tournament.

Sources claim that the players have informed the team management of their unavailability in different letters, all of which contain the same content in Hindi.
“I have to compete in the Haryana state championship, which begins on March 29. The players said in their letters, “I am leaving the team of my own free will and I will not be able to play the final game.”
The first team to represent Haryana in IWL 2 was Bahadurgarh, which won the first Women’s Football League. With eight victories and two draws in their undefeated record, Bahadurgarh became victorious after defeating Alakhpura FC in the final match.
