IPL2024: The main preseason camp for the Kolkata Knight Riders will start on March 15

The two-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced that their primary preseason training camp for the 2024 competition would start in Kolkata on March 15.

On March 23, KKR’s IPL 2024 campaign gets underway at Eden Gardens, home of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In a further post, the team said that a few of its native Indian players are competing in the DY Patil T20 Cup, which is now taking place in Navi Mumbai. Because of this, KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar has established a makeshift training facility at the KKR Academy in Mumbai for this week.

Vice-captain Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Suyash Sharma, Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora, Chetan Sakariya, Sakib Hussain, and Ramandeep Singh are among the players now attending the week-long sessions at the KKR Academy in Mumbai.

The team from Kolkata, which Shreyas Iyer will lead, said that they would provide information as soon as it is finalized on player arrivals in Kolkata for the major preseason camp, including information about their foreign contingent.

After missing out on the IPL playoffs in the previous two seasons, KKR paid Rs 24.75 crore to acquire Australia’s left-arm fast-bowling star Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2024 Player Auction held in Dubai last year.

At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Capitals began their mini-preseason camp on Thursday. There, they participated in an intrasquad game and concentrated on developing their individual skills.

Players like Ishant Sharma, Kumar Kushagra, and Pravin Dubey have been sighted hone their various abilities at the mini-camp, which is scheduled to last five days. The Delhi Capitals will play their first match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) against Punjab Kings on March 23 in the afternoon at the recently constructed Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali.
