Shahbaz replaces Jadeja in Bangladesh tour
Left-arm spin all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed will replace unfit Ravindra Jadeja for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Bangladesh, the BCCI announced on Wednesday. The 33-year-old Jadeja is yet to recover from a knee injury and will continue to be under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. The star all-rounder had to skip India's Asia Cup campaign after the group stages to undergo surgery due to a long-standing knee injury and was subsequently ruled out of the T20 World Cup.

Notably, chief selector Chetan Sharma had stated at the time of the squad announcement for both the ODI and Test squads for the Bangladesh tour that Jadeja's inclusion would be subject to fitness. Now he has been ruled out of ODIs.

It remains to be seen whether any all-rounder will be available for the Test series which will be followed by limited-overs matches.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat Titans pacer Yash Dayal, who made his debut in the team after a good season in the Indian Premier League, has a physical problem and has been ruled out of the three-match series, which is scheduled to start on December 4. Will start in Mirpur.

The All India Senior Selection Committee has included fast bowler Kuldeep Sen in the squad in place of Dayal.

That said, Kuldeep and Shahbaz were initially named in the squad for the 3-match ODI series in New Zealand starting November 25 in Auckland. However, he will now be part of the team that travels to Bangladesh."

Shahbaz, who made his international debut during the home ODIs against South Africa in September, is currently part of India's ODI squad for the three-match series in New Zealand. The 27-year-old has been in scintillating form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He took 11 wickets in six matches in 51.2 overs at an economy of 4.87.
