Smriti Mandhana Avoids ‘Controversial Question’ Following WPL Win | WATCH ‘What If Kohli Asks How to Win a Trophy?’

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) winners, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), led by Smriti Mandhana, made history on Sunday by defeating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets. The women’s team achieved their aim of winning a championship, and the victory put an end to Bangalore’s 16-year trophy drought.

Being the greatest team in the league, Delhi advanced straight to the finals but struggled at the last hurdle. Mandhana and his team delivered an incredible performance, taking DC to the canvas immediately after the first Powerplay of the match. After folding for a pitiful 113, the Meg Lanning-led team was defeated by RCB with 8 wickets and 3 balls remaining in the match.

Following the trophy presentation, Mandhana engaged in a discussion with pundit Aakash Chopra. He inquired as to whether she intended to provide a pre-season speech to the men’s squad, akin to what Virat Kohli did the year before.

The captain of the RCB women’s team, who was in a tight place, took the safe road out of the situation while applauding Kohli’s accomplishments and hoping for the men’s team to win the IPL for the first time this year.

“Virat Kohli has accomplished plenty. He is regarded as a gaming legend. He has both a Champions Trophy and a World Cup victory. I believe that franchise cricket is mostly dependent on luck. I hope that RCB’s good fortune has begun with this cup, the WPL Trophy. Mandhana said, “You never know,” to Chopra’s query about Jio Cinema.

Kohli’s encouraging remarks in 2023

Kohli gave a speech to raise the spirits of the Smriti Mandhana-led team before the WPL 2023.

When there is a one percent probability, it may sometimes be sufficient. It is important, nevertheless, to hear your thoughts on that one percent. In the end, something spectacular could emerge from it if you are prepared to give it all you have to turn that one into 10, then develop that ten into thirty,” Kohli had said.

Three times before, in 2009, 2011 and 2016, the men’s team came very close to taking home the title, but they ended up losing. The men’s squad would draw motivation and win the cup because Mandhana broke the drought in Kohli’s hometown.
