Watch Ajinkya Rahane’s Batting Video, Captioned “No Rest Days,” One Day After India’s Devastating Loss

In the first Test in Centurion, India was overpowered by the South African team, who won by an innings and thirty-two runs. South Africa performed well both at bat and with the ball, as rookie Nandre Burger took seven wickets in two innings and Kagiso Rabada claimed a fifer in the first innings. Dean Elgar scored 185 runs to lead the team.

Virat Kohli attempted to rally the team in the second innings, but India lost the match as a result of his teammates’ constant wicket-losing. India may be losing out on the middle-order expertise of Ajinkya Rahane, who has partnered with Virat Kohli on several occasions to help India win red-ball matches.

In a recent video that he uploaded, Ajinkya Rahane was seen honing his batting technique. The video was labeled “No rest days” by him.

Rahane’s most recent appearance for India came during their July earlier this year West Indies trip. He participated in several of the Indian team’s recent successes abroad. His most memorable performance came at the MCG when he took over as captain in place of Kohli. Rahane bounced back after being run out in the first Test, which caused a lot of people to criticize him, and he scored a career-best century against Australia to help his team win.

Now that he’s returned to playing domestic cricket, Rahane captained Mumbai, plays for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, and was a member of the team that won the championship in the 2023 IPL.

In order to be selected by the selectors and rejoin the Indian squad, he would be looking to leave a lasting impression.
