“We Are All Waiting For You Here,” is the message that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez sent to Endrick

The March 2024 international friendlies were a successful beginning for Dorival Junior, the new head coach of Brazil’s men’s national football team. The youthful sensation Endrick is the person he has to thank the most for helping the Selecao go unbeaten in his first two games in charge.

The young forward, who is headed to Real Madrid, scored a goal each last week against Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu, his future home, and England at Wembley. Endrick replaced future Real Madrid teammate Rodrygo in the 71st minute of the match against England. Nine minutes later, when Jordan Pickford parried a shot by Vinicius Junior, he was in the correct place to tap in the rebound. It was sufficient for Brazil to win the match and for Dorival Junior to start his career with a victory.

In just his third appearance for the nation, Endrick scored his first goal for the senior Brazilian national football team. At the iconic Wembley Stadium, he also became the youngest senior international goal scorer in history at the age of 17 years and 246 days.

Subsequently, during the anti-racism friendly between Spain and Brazil at the Bernabeu, Dorival Junior gave Endrick more playing time by substituting the young player for Raphinha at halftime.

Brazil, behind 2-1 against an impressive Spain team, needed little time to tie the score after the break. After a corner, in the 50th minute, there was a scramble for the ball, and Endrick’s first-ever left-footed volley struck the back of the goal to give Brazil a boost. In the end, the game finished in a 3-3 tie.

After the match, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke with Endrick and gave him a message. Perez informed the Palmeiras star that “we are all waiting for you here” before requesting Rodrygo’s jersey.

It was Endrick’s first goal at the Bernabeu, the stadium he will call home as a Real Madrid player starting in the next campaign. The 17-year-old’s goal was the first of several he would score at the storied stadium. Madrid supporters have been very excited about his exploits in the two friendlies, when he scored two goals, in anticipation of his impending arrival in the Spanish capital.
