Students at Allahabad University fight with professors and vandalize offices in protest of a student’s death

The death of a student under “suspicious circumstances” sparked fights between students and faculty members at Allahabad University on Wednesday, according to the university. Additionally, several campus offices were vandalized. According to a university spokeswoman, some outside miscreants under the leadership of student leader Ajay Yadav Samrat damaged the university’s campus, engaged in lewd behavior, and fought with other ladies, inflicting injuries on several female professors.

In addition to destroying certain papers at the proctor’s office, the statement claims that the miscreants also vandalized the Hindi and Sanskrit departments. On Tuesday, Ashutosh Kumar Dubey (22), a student in the university’s fifth semester of Media Studies, was discovered unconscious in front of the students’ union building. Other students carried him to SRN Hospital, where physicians pronounced him dead, according to Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Police (Shivkuti).

In a statement, the university management described the death of the student as tragic and denied any involvement by the institution. It said that it was an accident that occurred on campus. According to the spokesman, Dubey’s family situation put him under a lot of stress, which also had an impact on his eating. “Vandalism on campus on the pretense of death and assaults on women are strongly condemned. She said that unscrupulous individuals are using this unfortunate event for hooliganism and gainful fame.

Due to the delay in receiving Dubey’s post-mortem report, according to ACP Yadav, it was impossible to determine the cause of death. The police convinced the students to clear the path after they attempted to create a “chakka jam” (traffic congestion). According to the pupils, the student passed away because the university management failed to send an ambulance at the appropriate time.
