UP: A viral video titled “Swarg me mauj le rahe hain” is posted on social media by a murder suspect who is now incarcerated

The police claimed on Thursday (March 14) that they have opened an investigation into the incident after the alleged footage of a murder suspect who is being held at Bareilly Central prison was broadcast live on social media. They also said that individuals found guilty throughout the probe will face consequences.

The culprit in the viral video has been named Asif. On December 2, 2019, in the Sadar Bazar Police Station area of Shahjahanpur, a public works department (PWD) contractor named Rakesh Yadav (34) was reportedly shot and killed in broad daylight.
Both Rahul Chaudhary and the other accused, who was also charged with murdering Yadav, are incarcerated at Bareilly Central Jail at this time.

According to Deputy Inspector General (Prison) Kuntal Kishore, a video of a murder suspect who is being held in jail went viral on social media.

filed a complaint against the defendant
The brother of the deceased met with District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh on Thursday after seeing the footage on social media and submitting a letter of complaint.

In the letter, he claimed that the alleged murderers were receiving preferential treatment in prison. He said that the two accused had been recruited to murder his brother by someone in Meerut.

DIG Kishore said that he had seen the footage.

“The problem is being investigated. Legal action would be taken against the guilty after an inquiry,” he said.
