Yogi requests that colleges create internal teams to address drug abuse

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, emphasized on Friday the need for universities to join the statewide fight against drug traffickers and the drug epidemic.

According to a statement released by his office, he requested that the colleges form internal committees tasked with addressing the problem of drug addiction.

At a review of the state of peace and order and the current development projects in Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Authority, and Meerut division, Yogi Adityanath made this statement at the Gautam Buddha University auditorium in Greater Noida.

The chief minister gave top police officials orders to step up and execute stricter measures in the current anti-drug campaign at the meeting. According to him, suspicious individuals should be looked into if they are seen around colleges and other educational facilities. He emphasized the need to act swiftly and firmly—including seizing their belongings—against individuals who lure students into the realm of illicit narcotics. In addition, the statement said that he gave the go-ahead for the creation of rehabilitation facilities inside medical universities.

Additionally, he gave authorities instructions to create offices for business owners who have made investments in the area as soon as possible.

Examining the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, he demanded that the greatest number of residents and program recipients be included. The chief minister also asked for reports on theme parks, New Noida construction, and the groundbreaking ceremony. Through a presentation, the officials also briefed him on the New Delhi-Mumbai Greenfield Expressway, startups, waste management, and the YEIDA Master Plan 2041.

As part of the Safe City program, he gave authorities instructions to make sure that high-quality CCTV cameras were installed. Also, he noted, that creating a control room would help to ensure the security of CCTV recordings. Additionally, he requested that all authorities maintain continuous contact with members of the public and public representatives.

The chief minister issued orders to make sure that officials submitted their master plans to the government on schedule. He also emphasized the need to create a thorough strategy for the eradication of unauthorized encroachments. He gave clear directives for the prompt settlement of issues pertaining to revenue and the IGRS (Integrated Grievance Redressal System). The police were instructed to promptly and effectively handle the concerns brought out by members of the public.

Arunveer Singh, CEO of YEIDA, Pankaj Singh, Noida Authority CEO, Meerut divisional commissioner Selva Kumari J, police commissioner Lakshmi Kumari, district magistrate Manish Kumar, MLC Shri Chand Sharma, Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar, Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M, and Greater Noida CEO Ravikumar NG were among those in attendance at the meeting.
