Bengaluru Scooter Owner Penalized Rs. 3.20 Lakh for Infractions Against the Law

Traffic infractions are a common problem, with people often breaking the law by failing to wear helmets or to stop at red lights, which usually results in penalties. Enforcing traffic laws is essential to protecting drivers and the environment. A car in Bengaluru, Karnataka, was recently fined an incredible Rs 3.20 lakh for many traffic infractions inside the city.

The vehicle in issue is reportedly a Honda Activa scooter that belongs to Venkatraman, a Sudamanagar, Bengaluru, resident. The scooter’s total penalties, which are believed to be between Rs 80,000 and Rs 1 lakh, much surpass its true worth. The driver’s habit of using a cell phone while riding and his repeated inability to wear a helmet have been found to be the reasons for the vehicle’s accumulation of over 300 penalties. The scooter, registered under the license plate KA05KF7969, was often seen driving through Wilson Garden and SR Nagar without following traffic laws.

Traffic police officers went to Venkatraman’s home after finding the car and collected the penalty. Venkatraman, however, said that he was unable to pay the large sum. Rather, he suggested turning over the scooty to the police. Unfortunately, the police could not use the old scooty much because of its depreciated worth, which was estimated to be between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000. Authorities thus demanded that Venkatraman pay the fine and threatened to take legal action if he didn’t. Additionally, a notification about the matter was sent to him.

This example demonstrates how traffic officials take repeated offenses seriously and the financial consequences that follow. It also acts as a reminder of how crucial it is to follow traffic safety regulations in order to reduce hazards and preserve order on the streets.

There has also been another example in Bengaluru when a separate car was fined Rs 1 lakh for around 250 infractions; this case emphasizes how common traffic offenses are in the city.
