On Thursday, September 7, gold prices in India continued to decline. In India, 10 grams of 22-carat gold cost Rs 54,900, compared to Rs 59,890 for 10 kilos of 24-carat gold.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures with a maturity date of October 5, 2023, were trading down by 0.15% at Rs 59000 at 12:58 IST. In the meanwhile, at 1:12 pm IST, MCX silver futures (December 5) were down 0.45% at Rs 72147.

In the nation’s capital, a gram of 24-carat gold costs Rs 60,040, while a gram of 22-carat gold costs Rs 55,050. In Chennai, the cost of gold is Rs 60,230 for 10 kilos of 24-carat gold and Rs 55,200 for 22-carat gold.

After losing money for five straight sessions, gold prices throughout the world were hovering at a one-week low on Thursday.

At 05:35 GMT, spot gold prices were constant at $1,918.14 per ounce, while US gold futures were down 0.1% at $1,942.30.

24-carat gold costs Rs 59,890 in Kolkata, while 22-carat gold costs Rs 54,900.

At Rs 54,900 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold and Rs 59,890 for 24-carat gold, the price of gold in Mumbai is comparable to that in Hyderabad, Kerala, Pune, and Bhubaneswar.

In Vadodara, the cost of 10 grams of 24-carat gold is Rs 59,940, compared to Rs 54,950 for 10 kilos of 22-carat gold. In Vadodara, the cost of 10 grams of 22- and 24-carat gold is comparable to that in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Surat, and Mysore.

Chandigarh charges Rs 60,040 for 24-carat gold and Rs 55,050 for 22-carat gold. Chandigarh’s cost for 10 grams of 22- and 24-carat gold is comparable to that of Lucknow, Jaipur, and Noida.
