Congress and Lalu plotted to remove me: reticent

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, said on Monday that RJD leader Lalu Prasad had mingled with Congress, who had a grudge against him, and that they had tried to entice representatives of the governing parties before the NDA government’s floor test.

Ahead of the floor test, Nitish subtly accused the RJD of attempting to entice politicians of governing parties with promises of lakhs of rupees. He also said that he would conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine the source of such large sums of money. In addition to committing errors in the department in spite of his warnings, he accused RJD of seizing the education department with force when he shared control with the party.

Speaking in the parliament during a debate on the motion of confidence he submitted after his formation of a new government with the BJP, Nitish said that while he had united the opposition parties under the banner of “INDIA,” the Congress disagreed with him.

“Your father also hobnobed with the former while Congress had a problem with me,” Nitish said, gesturing to Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the head of the RJD, who was using the opposition bench. He continued, saying that RJD had prevented the appointment of additional Congress members to the cabinet during the grand alliance’s rule. “I considered now nothing will happen in INDIA and left it and returned to NDA forever,” he remarked.
