Gadkari praises Ratan Tata’s enterprise after Tata Safari and Tata Harrier SUVs obtain a 5-star rating from Bharat-NCAP

Tata Motors, one of the leading automakers in India, has once again established the benchmark for the industry. As per the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat-NCAP), an independent safety performance evaluation protocol developed in India, the country’s flagship SUV, the new Safari, and its premium SUV, the Harrier, have been awarded the 5-star rating for adult and child occupant protection, respectively. Tata Motors has a record of introducing the safest vehicles to drive on Indian roads, and it still does.

Following the first-ever Bharat – NCAP 5-star certification for its new Safari and Harrier vehicles, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari thanked Tata Motors.

“@TataMotors deserves congratulations on this historic accomplishment! Speaking to ANI, Gadkari said, “Introducing the new Safari and Harrier to the world’s first Bharat – NCAP 5-star rating certification is a momentous stride in enhancing consumer safety.” According to Nitin Gadkari, BNCAP is India’s independent automobile safety champion, establishing norms that are followed globally. “BNCAP is India’s autonomous voice for car safety, establishing standards that are compared to those throughout the world. An admirable accomplishment that is in line with the dedication to quality and the welfare of Indian consumers,” he said.

“Introducing India to International Safety Standards! Top adult and kid safety ratings in Frontal, Side, and Pole Side Impact Tests by BNCAP highlight the outstanding performance of Tata’s Safari/Harrier. Making the first move in that direction,” it stated.

Earlier this week, the organization said that it would provide the safety ratings for the first batch of vehicles it has evaluated since its founding. The testing organization was founded earlier this year to assess the safety of cars made in India. It had conducted these tests earlier this month.

Only four other countries have their own independent testing programs. They are South Korea, China, Japan, and the US.
