How ‘Milk King’ Ved Ram Nagar Grew From 50 Litres To 36 Lakh Litres Per Day

India is home to many tales of resource-constrained entrepreneurs who rose from modest beginnings to great success in their respective industries. The late Ch Ved Ram Nagar, the man behind the Paras Dairy, is one of such merchants. In the world of dairy farms, Ved Ram is referred to as the “milk king.” He began his career by selling 50–60 liters of milk each day. He quickly achieved significant progress in this area and founded the Paras enterprise, which now distributes 36 lakh liters of milk daily. Paras has also presented strong competition for other well-known dairy companies, such as Mother Dairy and Amul.

Ved Ram Nagar, who was born in 1933, began selling milk at the age of 27 and founded his first business in 1980. Following this, he set up a factory in 1984 to produce milk and its byproducts. He founded VRS Food in 1986 and constructed the first large-scale milk production in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, in 1987.

In Gulavathi Rural Natthugari village, Bulandshahr tehsil, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, he established another large milk facility in 1992. The firm started operating outside of the Delhi-NCR in 2004, and Ch Ved Ram Nagar established a milk facility in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

After Ved Ram Nagar passed away in 2005, his business was renamed Vedram & Sons Private Limited in 2008. It is now one of the most well-known dairy brands in Delhi-NCR and goes by the name Paras. The corporation has undertaken additional commercial endeavors in addition to operating dairy farms. These endeavors include the manufacturing of medicines, healthcare, real estate, and education.

One of Ch Ved Ram Nagar’s five sons, Surendra Singh Nagar, is an MP for the Rajya Sabha. Other kids have taken an active role in running and effectively managing their father’s company. In addition to their company, they are involved in several social service initiatives and have set up a charity trust in their father’s honor. The firm has ties to 5,400 villages across Gujarat, UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Haryana. Additionally, the firm provides funds to lakhs of farmers so they may purchase supplies for agricultural and animal husbandry.
