How Millie Bobby Brown Maintains Her Mental Health Despite Criticism from the Public

Actress Millie Bobby Brown keeps a notebook and goes to therapy to maintain good mental health.

The ‘Stranger Things’ actress is determined to concentrate on her self-care since she despises how the public perceives her physical appearance.

“I attend therapy, keep a notebook, and take days for myself. In a video conversation with Glamour magazine, she said, “I believe self-care is so focused on doing a facemask and putting a scrunchie in, but truly, it’s lighting a candle and taking a minute to yourself, and counting your blessings and embracing your true inner self and nourishing that.

Additionally, Millie related a recent instance in which she felt humiliated for her appearance in public.

“The other day, I was at a restaurant, and someone asked if I would want to snap his photo. I answered, ‘No. I really don’t feel like doing anything today. Well, you’re not looking that great anyhow, he said.

“So, I feel like things like that, those instances, and those day-to-day struggles are the things I’ve fought with the most – just not being able to understand the inside of who I am and perhaps the fact that I was simply suffering that day, or not able to. Making it about my appearance and my physical appearance is something I’m sort of struggling against.

Along with the 39-year-old actress America Ferrera, Millie has been selected one of Glamour’s Women of the Year 2023, and both women have individual covers for the title in a special issue of the magazine.

In an interview to commemorate the honor, the actress who rose to popularity as Eleven in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” admitted that she felt “penalized” for talking too loudly when she first gained notoriety.

When she first gained international notoriety, she was ridiculed for being too animated during interviews and said of her early ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars’ media appearances, “We’re kids – we talk over each other.”

“I was only punished for talking too much, sharing too much, and being too loud.”

She described how adults would call her “an idiot,” “stupid,” and “a brat,” and how she was accused by trolls of “trying to steal the thunder” of her castmates. It’s difficult to hear that at 13, said Millie, who is engaged to musician Jon Bon Jovi’s son Jake Bongiovi, age 21.

“You say, ‘I don’t want to speak to you ever again. I don’t want to be the one making noise. I couldn’t help but think about all the remarks throughout interviews. So even though I wanted to participate, I just kept in mind to keep quiet and speak when I was asked to. I just felt like it wasn’t my turn.
