Mili remake by Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan will be announced, along with remakes of Koshish and Bawarchi

Anushree Mehta, Abir Sengupta, and Sameer Raj Sippy of SRS Productions and Jaadugar Films have announced the official Hindi remakes of three timeless classics: Mili (1975), Koshish (1972), and Bawarchi (1972). This is a significant move.

All three films are regarded as Indian cinematic masterpieces and are beloved by millions. While Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar respectively directed Koshish and Bawarchi and Mili, two everlasting favorites. The filmmakers’ original ideas, relatable characters, and wholesome narrative created a profound impression on successive generations of viewers. These movies featured career-best performances from renowned performers like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Sanjeev Kumar, and others.

The co-founders of JAADUGAR FILMS, Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta, stated, “We are beyond excited to be embarking on this amazing adventure of creating three of our all-time favorite movies in a new shape and mould. It is a tremendous duty since the renowned Gulzar Saab and Hrishi da, who have established the standards of filmmaking for future generations, produced the films Koshish, Bawarchi, and Mili, which are revered in India and throughout the world. These are the movies we saw growing up, and the next generation should see them too to understand our rich cinematic heritage. We make an effort to do our best to meet the demands, shoulder the burden, and, most importantly, recreate these movies in a way that will appeal to a large audience.

In addition, Sameer Raj Sippy said, “I believe it’s time we take great tales and introduce them in today’s context, with a contemporary and current viewpoint. I feel movies are about defining moments, intriguing enough to share with others. That’s why it’s important to go back to Bawarchi, Mili, and Koshish. I wish to carry on the heritage that my grandpa Shri N. C. Sippy, my uncle Romu Sippy, and my father Raj Sippy have started since I come from a famous family of film producers and am motivated by the family company.

The remakes’ cast and crew have not yet been revealed.
