Police obtain 11 audio recordings from the suicide of Nitin Chandrakant Desai

Nitin Chandrakant Desai, the Bollywood art director found dead on Wednesday in his Karjat studio south of Mumbai, had 11 audio messages recorded before his death.

The audio recorder has been turned over to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for examination.

According to the authorities, Mr. Desai listed particular persons with whom he was unhappy in the audio messages. According to the police, who are not yet publishing the identities of the persons, the FSL report may impact the path of the investigation.

Desai, who was found hanging in his studio, was struggling to repay a debt that had been approved for Rs 180 crores but had now escalated to 252 crores. ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd has also just had an insolvency petition approved by a bankruptcy court.

The case is now classified as an accidental death report (ADR), but authorities are also investigating its financial aspects. The authorities are investigating if the debt burden had a role in the art director’s death. According to the autopsy report issued following a post-mortem examination of Mr. Desai’s corpse at Mumbai’s publicly financed JJ Hospital, he died by hanging.

Police have confiscated mobile phones and other electronic devices located on the home and will investigate them as part of their investigation. They also recorded remarks from Mr. Desai’s caregivers and facility attendants.

Maharashtra’s chief minister, Eknath Shinde, and deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, paid their respects today at the JJ Post Mortem Centre, where Mr Desai’s corpse is still being inspected. According to the police, his funeral will be place at ND Studios, per his family’s wishes.

Desai created lavish sets for famous films such as “Jodha Akbar” and “Lagaan,” as well as the popular TV game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati.”
