Rajadhani Files: Telugu film opens in theaters amidst controversy surrounding the Andhra Pradesh High Court; theaters sell out

The case seeking temporary remedies to revoke the censor certificate for the film “Rajadhani Files” has been postponed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Today saw the debut of Bhanu’s Telugu drama film, which explores the socio-political dynamics of Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Produced by Kantamaneni Ravi Shankar, the movie explores the difficulties farmers face in the face of controversial development plans for the region. But on the first day of its release, the concerts were empty.

‘Rajadhani Files’ combines political intrigue, personal struggles, and social activism to create an engaging narrative that resonates with its viewers. This is what the viewers had to say:

The movie was involved in a number of controversy. Lella Appi Reddy, the general secretary of the YSRC, has filed a plea in the High Court to have the film’s censor board certificate revoked. She claims that the film’s main goal is to damage the State government’s and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s image.

Representing the petitioner, advocate VRN Prashant contended that some movie sequences defame the CM and mislead the people by fabricating evidence. He said that since several of the characters in the movie resemble real-life people like MLA Kodali Nani and others—even down to their names—it seems like the movie is criticizing the governing party and the chief minister. The film’s trailer, which was unveiled on February 5, is said to have been motivated by the filmmaker’s self-serving political objective and to present the Chief Minister and the administration in an unfavorable light.

Rajadhani Files offers a thorough analysis of the challenges faced by rural communities in the face of rapid urbanization and political choices. The movie is set to be a powerful contribution to Telugu cinema. The film aims to captivate viewers and elicit contemplative reflection with its emphasis on relevant societal concerns and compelling story. The ensemble cast, which includes both well-known performers and up-and-coming talent, includes Shanmukh, Madhu, Ajayratnam, Amrutha Chowdary, Ankita Thakur, Akilan, Veena, Vinodh Kumar, Vani Viswanath, Pavan, and Vishal Patni.
