Ricky Kej gets praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for singing the national anthem with a UK orchestra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Indian music composer Ricky Kej for it after the 100-member British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra recently played an instrumental rendition of the national anthem at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.

“Wonderful. In reaction to Ricky’s post on X, formerly known as twitter, the Prime Minister said, “It will definitely generate pride in every Indian.

As Ricky said in his blog post, “A few days ago, I conducted a 100-piece British orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, to perform India’s National Anthem at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, London.”

It’s astonishing that a bigger orchestra has never recorded the Indian national song. When I heard the ‘Jaya He’ at the end, I felt shivers. He said, “As an Indian composer, it felt great.”

Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, commented on the television show X in praise of the Indian composer of music: “There was a time when the British outlawed and imprisoned any Indian who dared to sing the national anthem and fly the national flag. As we enter the Amrit Kaal of Independence, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a 100-piece British orchestra, plays our country’s anthem. The orchestra is directed by the highly talented Indian conductor Ricky Kej ji. What a distance we’ve covered. This foretells the golden era that our nation will live in.
