There have been rumors of competition between Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ever since they competed together in the Miss India Pageant in 1994. The rumors and conjectures are still going strong. As she reminisced about her interactions with both of these beauties, their fellow competitor, Maninee De has since refrained from commenting on these rumors.

Maninee reported that they were both very kind and courteous.Despite being in their 20s, the two actresses exuded dignity, despite the fact that everything was fabricated by the media. “We were informed before we left Delhi that Aishwarya was a model for a well-known soap company, so what would we even do there? I was the final person to fill out the Miss India 1994 form after she dropped me off at the Claridges Hotel and gave me the order to apply,” Maninee said.

De said that seeing Aishwarya on the “Drona” sets years after the contest was a touching experience. “We just left for Goa to have fun, and when we reached there, we saw Aishwarya Rai and told ourselves that we were mad to compete with her,” Maninee reminisced of their time spent together in Goa. But what a sweetheart she was; not only is she gorgeous, but she also has a really kind disposition. She approached me after I won the Miss Congeniality competition and said she had voted for me because I was the most sincere and kind candidate.”

Maninee said that there is a distinction between friends and coworkers, and both Aishwarya and Sushmita treated her extremely well when they were contenders. “I was leaving the Drona screening later when I ran across Aishwarya, and she yelled out to me, which was very encouraging. I was nervous, but she gave me a very loving embrace and got to know my kid as well,” Maninee said.
