Every day, Sikhs are being attacked in different parts of the US, according to Satnam Singh Chahal

In some part of the country every day, Sikh community members are being attacked while their homes and lives are being destroyed. In a news statement, Satnam Singh Chahal, executive director of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), explained the issue. Chahal was making a comment in response to the incident in which the New York Police Department (NYPD) in the United States of America (USA) forbade a Sikh trooper from growing a beard.

The Sikh community in the United States of America is now angry with the NYPD for their actions as a result of this occurrence. Taking this incident seriously, Chahal said that the NYPD should remember that despite the American Sikhs’ significant contribution to the overall development of the US, their religious sentiments are still regularly violated in various parts of the country.

According to Chahal, the Sikhs have achieved significant progress in a variety of fields thanks to their skill, diligence, and integrity, including American politics, security, technology, and science. He said that the religious practises and traditions of Sikhs are no longer novel in a society like the USA. Chahal requested the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India to likewise express the Sikhs’ concerns to the New York Police Department via diplomatic channels in order for the NYPD to reverse its decision and let the Sikh trooper to serve in Sikh garb.
