In an engagement in the region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two Pakistan Army personnel and a wanted terrorist were killed

Authorities in the restive region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that two Pakistan Army personnel were killed on Saturday during an intelligence-based operation that resulted in the killing of a wanted terrorist.

Following reports of terrorist activity, the security forces carried out an operation in the province’s Buner area. As a consequence, terrorist and ringleader Saleem, also known as Rabbani, was killed, while two other militants were wounded in the gunfight.

The military’s propaganda branch, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), claims that Rabbani, who is wanted for Rs 5 million, has been implicated in many terrorist attacks against security personnel, extortion, and targeted executions of defenseless people.

The confrontation also resulted in the injuries of two more terrorists. The action also claimed the lives of two Pakistan Army personnel.

According to an army statement, Pakistan’s security forces are still committed to eliminating the threat posed by terrorists.

The number of terrorist occurrences in Pakistan has increased significantly in recent months; in the first quarter of 2024, KP and Balochistan accounted for almost 92% of all deaths and 86% of attacks, including acts of terrorism and security force operations.
