Lavrov visited Beijing to talk about the Asia-Pacific region and Ukraine

In the midst of Moscow’s grueling battle against Ukraine and a continuous attempt to unify their foreign policies against the US and its allies, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov came in Beijing on Monday to demonstrate the strength of relations with key diplomatic ally China.

China has supported Russia’s assertion that the West’s provocations in 2022 caused President Vladimir Putin to initiate his attack.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova posted a photo of Lavrov and Wang on Telegram, but she did not disclose the nature of their discussions. According to Russian state news agency Tass, the ministers would “discuss the situation in Ukraine and the Asia-Pacific region, issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction in the international arena.”
