Musk reiterates Ramaswamy’s warning on US terrorism akin to 9/11

Elon Musk, the billionaire behind SpaceX and Tesla, has issued a dire warning, stating that if the uncontrolled migrant inflow and the ongoing crisis at the southern border are not sufficiently addressed, the United States may experience a terrorist attack similar to the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Musk issued a warning in reaction to a statement made by businessman and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who called for the closing of the US-Mexico border and mass deportations.

The large number of unauthorized immigrants entering the US is a possible security risk, as Ramaswamy noted, stating, “Even if only 0.1% of illegal aliens who have crossed our border have hostile intentions, that’s tens of thousands of would-be attackers.” He went on to warn that if this problem is not addressed, it might lead to a tragedy similar to the September 11 attacks.

Musk expressed similar worries to Ramaswamy, saying that it is “just a matter of time” before such a catastrophe occurs. The software tycoon has already expressed his concerns about the conditions at the southern border, claiming that the US has become a refuge for foreign criminals due to the policy that permits illegal migrants to seek asylum without providing any proof of identity. This claim was made in response to studies indicating a sharp decline in the country’s murder rate, ostensibly as a result of criminals from Venezuela moving to the US.
A Politico story from last month said that US President Joe Biden may be thinking about giving millions of illegal immigrants permanent residence in the midst of these talks. Musk attacked the Democratic Party for allegedly planning to open the southern border in order to “import voters” in response to this possible action.
Recent American politics have seen a heightened discussion over the US-Mexico border, particularly in light of the record-breaking migrant inflow in the previous year. Republican lawmakers have demanded more money and more stringent border restrictions in order to handle the situation; they have even pressed for their demands by using a multibillion-dollar assistance package for Ukraine.
Musk’s most recent remarks have added a sense of urgency to the debates on immigration reform and national security, which are already heavily centered on the issue surrounding the border and immigration rules.
