Will Support India’s Role In Resolving the Conflict in Ukraine: US

According to the US, India’s contribution to establishing “lasting peace” in Ukraine would be welcomed.

Speaking on behalf of the US Department of State, Matthew Miller stated that the US would welcome any assistance that India or any other nation might provide in bringing about a “just and lasting peace” while respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Miller responded, “We welcome a role that India or any other country could play in helping achieve a just and lasting peace that recognizes Ukraine’s territorial integrity and Ukraine’s sovereignty,” as reported by PTI, when asked if India or PM Narendra Modi could help put an end to the Ukraine conflict.

He said that Russia’s involvement in the crisis in Ukraine has been a “strategic failure.”

He continued by saying that Russia has lost military people and tools.

According to him, the US appreciates the assistance that Ukraine has received from other countries since the crisis started.

“Russia’s involvement in the conflict has been a strategic disaster, and there has been a significant loss of military people and equipment. Their reputation has suffered as a result. The sanctions and export restrictions we put on them have destroyed their economy, Miller added.

“We appreciate the international support Ukraine has received since the start of the conflict,” he said.

In June of this year, Prime Minister Modi and US President Joe Biden lamented the “terrible and tragic” humanitarian implications of the situation in Ukraine.

Both presidents had demanded adherence to international law, UN charter ideals, as well as territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“President Biden and Prime Minister Modi grieved the dreadful and sad humanitarian impacts of the situation in Ukraine and conveyed their profound concern. The leaders emphasized the war’s grave and aggravating effects on the world economy, notably on the security of food, fuel, and energy, as well as crucial supply lines.
In their unified statement, they demanded stronger action to lessen the effects of the conflict, particularly in the developing countries.

“Both nations also promise to provide ongoing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine. They demanded adherence to the rules of the UN charter, as well as territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as international law. The necessity of post-conflict rebuilding in Ukraine was agreed upon by both nations, it was said.
