Haryana: Police said three women were gang-raped in front of family members

In the Panipat area of Haryana, three ladies were reportedly gang raped by four males in front of their family members. The event happened late on Wednesday, when two unidentified guys stormed into the family’s home, tied the three ladies up with rope, and then raped them. They were reportedly carrying knives and other sharp-edged weapons, according to the police.

According to investigators, the accused also allegedly stole their jewelry and cash from the ladies, who were laborers.

In a another event that happened that same night, a sick lady was assaulted and her husband was robbed roughly one kilometer from the prior location. The assault left the lady dead.

The same gang of persons were allegedly involved for both attacks, according to the police. In addition to assaulting the pair, they stole the ill woman’s husband of some cash and a cell phone.

Both incidences happened in the same area, according to Vijay, the station house officer of the Matlauda police station in Panipat.

“A investigation is being conducted. So yet, no arrests have been made,” he said.

An official said on Thursday that a police head constable in Delhi has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman on the pretence of marriage.

A senior police officer said, “We received a complaint from the victim, a 22-year-old lady, against Head Constable Nafees Ahmed of Delhi Police, now deployed in PCR in the northeast region.

The two originally met at the Laxmi Nagar police station three years ago, and the complaint claims that in 2021, the accused coerced her into having a sexual connection.

The officer said, “The victim later learned that the accused is already married and has four children.”

In accordance with section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), a FIR was filed against Ahmed.
