Sirsa: Students create a 60-kilometer hybrid car on a single charge out of junk

A group of JCD Memorial Engineering College mechanical students, Sanjeev Kumar, Garv Badrecha, Lavish Kumar, and Ravi Kumar, have created a hybrid car that runs on both gasoline and electricity.

According to the pupils, no new parts were bought for the car from the market; instead, it was built entirely of waste materials.

The vehicle’s brushless direct current (BLDC) motor and two-stroke engine, according to the students, allow it to go further at a reduced cost and with less pollution.

They emphasized how rising energy consumption and environmental issues related to fossil fuels make non-conventional energy sources like solar and wind power essential.

According to them, the hybrid car has a range of up to 60 kilometers on a single charge. Its unique quality is its relatively small weight.

The JCD Vidyapeeth Director General, Dr. Kuldip Singh Dhindsa, praised the staff and students’ inventive efforts. According to him, hybrid cars are more ecologically friendly and fuel-efficient than conventional gasoline-powered cars.

Dr. Dinesh Kumar, the principal and director of the mechanical department, together with lab technician Chandrashekhar and associate professor Ganga Singh, have all contributed to the development of the hybrid car.

The students said that, in order to create the vehicle, their supervision and knowledge were essential.

The hybrid vehicle’s capacity to transition between gasoline and electric engines while in motion saves fuel and lowers pollutants, according to Dr. Dinesh Kumar.
