A former model, Taskeen Khan gave up her dream of becoming Miss India to become an IAS officer

Very few instances exist of people quitting entertainment for national service, despite the fact that many people leave their regular employment to pursue their goals in a glamorous industry. One such example is Taskeen Khan, a former Miss Uttarakhand and Miss Dehradun. In order to concentrate on taking the difficult civil services test, the former fashion designer chose to give up on that goal. She ended up with an outstanding all-India rank of 736.

Taskeen Khan has amassed a sizable fan base on social media already. She was crowned Miss Uttarakhand and Ms. Dehradun in the years 2016–2017. She is also well-known for imitating Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut. In fact, Taskeen’s path is akin to a Bollywood film. She first wanted to be Miss India, but instead, she followed her love for civil services and passed the test on her fourth try.

The goal that Taskeen Khan had after becoming Miss Dehradun and Miss Uttarakhand was to become Miss India. However, she considered going into a different career once her father retired. She began preparing for the UPSC because she wanted to become an IAS officer. Her Instagram follower, an IAS candidate, gave her the notion to try UPSC. She then proceeded to Mumbai’s Haj House to be ready for the UPSC.

Taskeen was able to get admission to Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi in 2020 for the free UPSC coaching program. She studied hard and remained committed to passing the challenging test despite her family’s limited financial resources and their reliance on her father’s meager pension. Her path wasn’t simple; before she ultimately succeeded, she failed the test three times. Nowadays, many young individuals who want to work in government consider Taskeen Khan to be a great inspiration.
