Following a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with a strong academic record in areas such as Tax Law, Competition Law, Labor and Industrial Law, Corporate Law, Family Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Banking and Financial Laws, and International Law, one must obtain a PhD with first class honors or its equivalent in Master of Laws (LLM).

Faculty Hiring at IIT Kharagpur in 2024: Experienced Professor:

ten years or more of experience in teaching, research, and industry, with at least four of those years spent as associate professors at prestigious universities like the IISERs, IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai, and others.

Professor in Associateship:

six years minimum of experience in teaching, research, and industry, with at least three of those years spent as an associate professor or above in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai, IISERs, or similar institutions.

Grade I Assistant Professor:

a minimum of three years of experience in teaching, research, or industry, excluding experience from a PhD

Grade II Assistant Professor:

It is possible for candidates with fewer than three years of experience to be appointed on contract. Depending on experience, individuals might start off at Level 10 or Level 11 of the Pay Matrix and advance to Level 12 after three years of good work.
