38,497 cases were resolved in Jalandhar district courts under National Lok Adalat

Here today, the District Services Legal Authority convened a Lok Adalat. On this occasion, 38,497 cases were resolved, and several benches issued awards totaling Rs 40.25 crore.

During the Lok Adalat, 40,500 pre-litigative and pending criminal compoundable offenses, NI Act cases under Section-138, bank recovery cases, MACT cases, labor disputes, matrimonial disputes, land acquisition cases, service matters pertaining to pay and allowances and retiral benefits, revenue cases, and other civil cases were taken up. Non-compoundable theft cases were excluded.

At the District Courts, there were twenty Benches in all. There were additionally four benches installed at the Phillaur and Nakodar subdivisions.

Through the efforts of the presiding officer and its members, couples who were living apart and suing one another were reunited at the Lok Adalat, according to Baljinder Singh Mann, Secretary, DLSA, Jalandhar. In the pre-Lok Adalats, counseling sessions were arranged for their resolution. Following therapy, they decided to settle all of their disagreements and conflicts in order to coexist. After receiving a single sapling as a gift, they were inspired to nurture the plant and preserve their positive relationships.

2,262 cases resolve in the district of Kapurthala

Phagwara: During the National Lok Adalat, which was conducted today in a number of locations around the Kapurthala district, 2,262 cases were resolved. Nine Benches were established in Kapurthala, three in Phagwara, two in Sultanpur Lodhi, and one in Bholath to aid the people at the District Courts Complex. During the Lok Adalat, awards of Rs 28,95,64,159 were also passed around the area. The District & Sessions Judge of Kapurthala, Amarinder Singh Grewal, reported that 7,205 cases were heard in the Lok Adalat today.
