39 wounded, 2 dead in a car crash

There were 39 injuries and two fatalities, including a lady, after a truck and pickup van incident on Sunday night. Raj Kumar, a van driver, and Kalavati, 60, have been named as the dead.

After the wounded were brought to the Ropar Civil Hospital, the PGI, Chandigarh received referrals for Anmol (40), Sumit (22), Shalu (33) and Ganga (22) who were considered badly injured.

The victims aboard the truck were reportedly on their way back to Gadram village, which is close to Chamkaur Sahib, after visiting Khuralgarh and Naina Devi. Upon approaching the Chamkaur Sahib Chowk at the Ropar bypass, the truck and van collided directly.
