A jewelry business in Matiana had four people detained for theft

About 1.5 kg of silver and 5 grams of gold were taken from a jewelry store in Matiana, 43 km from Shimla, by four people, one of them is from Uttar Pradesh, the police said here today.

Manjoor Mohammad (41), who lives in Siyava village in Arki subdivision in Solan district; Kalu Ram (36), who lives in Bajni village in Kandaghat subdivision in Solan; Kamlesh (36), who lives in Kalaar village in Arki, Solan; and Mansu (28), who lives in Mali Tola village in Gorkhpur district, Uttar Pradesh, are the names of the accused in this case.

Theog subdivision resident Suresh Shah reported to the police on March 19 that several unidentified individuals had taken gold and silver from his jewelry store in Matiana on the evenings of March 10 and 11.

The accused were brought before the court today and placed under detention in four days of police custody, according to Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma, who verified the claim. The DSP went on to state that the accused’s car, HP11 7003, had also been seized. The stolen goods, however, had not yet been found.
