According to Raut, Eknath Shinde is just a “temporary guest” and Maha would soon have a new CM

The Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi entered a combative mode a day after the political quake in Maharashtra still hung in the air, with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut speculating that the state will soon have a new Chief Minister.

Speaking to reporters, Raut said that even the Shiv Sena’s allies BJP had seen that Eknath Shinde’s days were numbered.

He is, at most, a ‘temporary visitor’ (‘kuchh dinon ka mehmaan’). The disqualification of 16 MLAs, including Shinde, must be decided by the Speaker shortly. The NCP split is intended to protect the BJP’s position later since they have concluded that Shinde has outlived his usefulness, according to Raut.

Ajit Pawar has been appointed deputy chief minister for a record-breaking fifth time, the Sena (UBT) leader said, “but his target is higher, the post of CM.”

“There will be a change of guard in the state after the Speaker’s decision, and Ajit Pawar’s bargain is for the top position. Soon, the state will have a new chief executive, said Raut.

He went on to say that the BJP had been shaken by its defeat in Karnataka in May and that all recent polls pointed to an even worse defeat for it in Maharashtra if elections were conducted here.

“Everything being done is to preserve their standing in the state. The people of the state are witnessing all of this and won’t spare them, he said. “First, they divided the Shiv Sena, and now they have split the NCP.

Raut complained that the remains of the 25 (out of 26) victims of the early-Saturday bus accident in Buldhana, who were from various regions of the state, were being offered a mass cremation in Buldhana on Sunday (July 2).

“As their pyres burned, Mumbai rejoiced, and the new Deputy CM and Ministers were sworn in at Raj Bhavan with handshakes and embraces… They ought to at least have waited for the cremation flames to go out before their celebrations, Raut remarked, calling this indecent.
