According to TN CM Stalin, PM Modi’s regime is “weak” as a result of the SL Navy’s ongoing attacks on Indian fishermen

The chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin, said on Friday that the Sri Lankan navy’s ongoing assaults on Indian fisherman demonstrate how “weak” the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union government is.

While presiding over a meeting on the welfare of fishermen in this city, he emphasized that the only long-term solution to the problems facing fisherman was the return of Katchatheevu, an island that had been given to Sri Lanka by mutual consent in 1974.

The president of the governing DMK, Stalin, also claimed that a report from his father, the late chief minister M. Karunanidhi, indicated that Katchatheevu belonged to India. Days after Prime Minister Modi claimed that the Indira Gandhi administration was responsible for handing over the island to Sri Lanka in 1974, the Chief Minister made reference to the transfer of the territory.

Additionally, Modi said that the DMK administration in Tamil Nadu continues to write to him pleading with him to take back the island. Stalin further said that with the present NDA rule, assaults on Indian fishermen from the state by the Lankan navy had escalated. The Sri Lankan navy’s harassment and assaults on Indian fishermen were denounced during the summit.
