After three months, Bijleshwar Mahadev in Kullu opens his doors to pilgrims

On the festival of Mahashivratri, thousands of worshippers flocked to the Shiv temples located across this area.

Long lines of worshippers flocked to Shiv temples in the area, including those at Kullu, Manali, Bhuntar, Bajaura, and Banjar, to offer prayers to Lord Shiva on this auspicious day.

Just for Mahashivratri, the doors of the Bijleshwar Mahadev (locally called Bijli Mahadev) temple, which is perched atop a mountain with views of the Parvati valley, Kullu, and Bhuntar, were opened after more than three months. Upon arriving at the temple, hundreds of worshippers paid their respects to the Shivlingam.

The most well-liked temple for devotees, who had to wait in whirling lines to see the Shivlingam, was Bhootnath, which is situated in the town at the meeting point of the Beas and Sarwari rivers.

The solemnity of the festivities was increased when the local deities made their way to the Bhootnath temple.

Chants in praise of Lord Shiva may be heard echoing from many temples in the region, including the famous Manikaran Shiv Mandir in Kullu, the Pirdi Mahadev, Juanu Mahadev, and the Bashesara Mahadev temple in Bajaura (which is said to have been constructed by the Pandavas).
