Anil Vij, the leader of Firebrand, skips the oath-taking ritual

Anil Vij, a fiery senior politician and six-time Ambala Cantonment MLA, would not have been happy with the change of power in Haryana. The BJP may have difficulties as a result of this, but this is not the first time the former state home minister has caused controversy or caused issues for the party.

Known for enforcing severe measures, Vij dismissed many police officers and other officials for neglecting their duties during his time as Haryana’s Home Minister and during raids around the state while holding the position of Urban Local Bodies Minister. He had done the same thing at Ambala Cantonment when he held Janta Darbars. Disappointed with the purported meddling in the operations of the Health Department, Vij ceased file clearance in his capacity as a Health Minister. Later on, however, Vij was placated. Prior to the violence that struck the Nuh district, Vij had also said that he had not received any intelligence information.

Throughout their tenure, the tumultuous relationship between Vij and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar often made headlines. Disagreements between him and the previous CM surfaced in a number of instances, including control of the CID, the retention of former DGP Manoj Yadava, an altercation with a female IPS officer, actions against many officials, and the removal of Vij’s portfolio from Urban Local Bodies. When Vij was informed that he would lose the Home Department during the portfolio reallocation, he also made a resignation offer.

Meanwhile, Vij once again voiced his displeasure with the way the party was run by abandoning the meeting and then missing Nayab Singh Saini’s oath-taking ceremony.

His followers began to his home as soon as they learned of the development to show their support for the senior leader.

In the room where he regularly meets people and conducts regular meetings, there was an air of unease as the minister remained mute in the presence of his followers. Later, in the evening, the former Home Minister was seen at the Ambala City market eating golgappa and chaat while playing with the granddaughter of his younger brother.

The party’s most senior leader, Vij, should have been promoted to the position of chief minister, according to his followers, even though the fiery leader remained silent.

Every day, individuals from all across the state come to Ambala Cantonment to have their issues fixed. A Vij supporter stated, “The party should have honored the sentiments of the people of Haryana by appointing Vij as chief minister.

“We have talked to him and he has said that he doesn’t need any ministry to work for the people,” BJP leader Ajay Baweja said. He still has a lot of authority as an MLA and will keep serving the people of Ambala.

Rajesh Batoura, the former district leader of the BJP, also met Vij.

Vij changed his social media bio late at night to read “Ex-Home and Health Minister Haryana.”
