“BJP’s falling in popularity” The BJP’s “Ab ki baar 400 paar” slogan is downplayed by TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha

PATNA: Shatrughan Sinha, MP for Trinamool Congress (TMC) and contender for the Asansol Lok Sabha seat, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) harshly, claiming that the party’s latest slogan, “Ab ki baar 400 paar,” was born out of fear rather than confidence.
Sinha said that the BJP was being desperate because of its waning support.

Sinha emphasised the BJP’s involvement in the current electoral bond issue by saying that the party used government agencies to demand money from businesses.
“The electoral bonds case is a major swindle that has put the BJP in jeopardy. They are accused of violating their pledge to be non-corrupt by awarding contracts to dishonest businesses and of utilising government agencies to get money from businesses. In light of all this, the BJP’s standing has significantly declined. They are desperate now and are attempting to woo people back with the slogan ‘Ab ki baar 400 paar,'” Sinha said.
With reference to the 2004 elections, in which the Congress government drove out the BJP, Sinha said, “We believe that 2004 may happen again this time around.” Twenty years from now, a lot will change. In that regime, too, I was. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was performing well as prime minister at the time, but in 2004, Manmohan Singh took over as leader of the government,” he remarked.
The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is being implemented just in time for the next elections, Sinha said, adding that Mamata Banerjee would not allow it to be implemented in West Bengal.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, had previously said that the National Register of Citizens and Citizenship Amendment Act operations would not be permitted by the Centre in the state.
Only before the elections. Already, three or four times. We are very clear about where we stand. The folks are only being shown and inconvenienced. NRC is a thought that is on their minds. We won’t let both the NRC and the CAA occur,” Mamata Banerjee said.
