According to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, the UPSC gave applicants who had selected Imphal as their test location the choice to switch and take in the exam in Aizawl, Delhi, Dispur, Jorhat, Kohima, Kolkata, and Shillong instead.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2023, which was held on May 28 as well as the interviews for the positions of Accounts Officer/Enforcement Officer and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) in the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), which were held on July 2, both included this option, Singh informed the House in a written response.

According to him, the UPSC allowed applicants who had selected Imphal as their test location to switch and appear in any of the following locations: Aizawl, Delhi, Dispur, Jorhat, Kohima, Kolkata, and Shillong.

In order to administer numerous tests in Manipur, the minister said that the Staff Selection Commission had three centers: Imphal, Churachandpur, and Ukhrul.

Aizawl, Kohima, and other northeastern cities were offered as alternatives to Manipur for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Tech.) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC and CBN) Examination, 2022, he added.

According to Singh, the applicants were also offered the option of changing their center to any location in India.
