CBI team visits Sandeshkhali and speaks with complainants in a land-grab case
In conjunction with its probe into suspected land grabbing in the region, a CBI team visited Sandeshkhali in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district on Tuesday. The team interacted with complainants and reviewed their documentation, according to an official.
He added that CBI agents, escorted by Central troops, had conversations with individuals who had accused TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his accomplices of stealing land.
Our groups have been going to Sandeshkhali and interacting with the locals. The CBI official said, “Today, our investigators talked with locals who had filed complaints over land-grabbing and also verified their documentation.
The CBI was instructed to look into claims of crimes against women and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali earlier this month by the Calcutta High Court.
