Congress is against tweets about electoral bonds being removed

Today, the Congress strongly objected to the Election Commission’s order for social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to remove tweets on electoral bonds.

Supriya Shrinate, the party’s spokesman and the head of its digital and social media platforms, protested to the X removing several tweets on electoral bonds during a news conference held here today, citing instructions from the Election Commission of India.

The Modi administration was attempting to conceal one of the largest corruption schemes in history, according to the Congress spokesman, which was the electoral bond program. She said that while the mainstream media had already been subdued, some social media sites that were operating freely and impartially were also being singled out, with some of their accounts already being blocked.

Shirante also described how, during the demonstrations against the three agricultural laws, the government ordered the deletion or removal of the social media handles of farmer leaders as well as those of their followers and supporters.
