Congress Praise Rajasthan’s “Chiranjeevi Yojana” as a National “Model” for Healthcare

The Congress stated on Thursday that the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme in Rajasthan is a “model” for the whole nation and that the vow to raise the program’s medical coverage to Rs 50 lakh would provide the poor and middle class the most relief possible.

Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X that former party head Rahul Gandhi visited patients receiving free treatment under the “Chiranjeevi Yojana” at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jaipur.

The Chiranjeevi Yojana is shown to be beneficial for Rajasthani citizens. Receiving medical care after becoming sick is quite challenging. Illnesses may put even middle-class individuals in debt. Rajasthani citizens, however, don’t need to fear. “With them is the armor of the revolutionary Chiranjeevi Yojana,” said Ramesh.

“The Chiranjeevi Yojana, which provides free care for cancer and heart illness as well as kidney and liver transplants, is a model for the whole nation. Dialysis, implants, and operations are all free,” he said.

“The treatment budget has also been raised, going from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. The poor and middle class in particular would benefit the most from this, according to Ramesh.

Gandhi said on Wednesday that the “Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme” of the Rajasthani government was the greatest free healthcare program in the nation.

The programme provides free medical care up to Rs 25 lakh. If the incumbent Congress is reelected, it has pledged to raise this coverage to Rs 50 lakh.

State Assembly elections in Rajasthan are scheduled on November 25.
