Debate regarding Veerappa Moily’s statement that he “did PM fast for 11 days”: “If you have faith in Ram”

Following Congress leader and former chief minister of Karnataka Veerappa Moily’s doubts about Prime Minister Modi’s 11-day fast in advance of the Ram Temple’s plan pratishtha ritual, a new issue sprang up. The seasoned Congressman said on Tuesday that he saw a doctor, who informed him that surviving for eleven days on only coconut water is not feasible. Is it a wonder that PM Modi is still alive? I thus doubt that he fasted,” the Congressman said. Lahar Singh Siroya, a BJP member of the Rajya Sabha, criticized the claim and clarified that not everyone is “fake like him (Veerappa Moily)”.

Prior to the historic occasion at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Modi followed 11-day observances of satvic living. PM Modi reportedly performed gau-puja, fed animals, and distributed clothing in accordance with the scriptures. He consumed just fruits and coconut water in moderation. In addition, PM Modi embarked on a spiritual journey, seeing all of the South Indian temples connected to the Ramayana, such as the Thriprayar Shree Ramaswami Temple in Kerala, the Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, and the Ramkund and Shree Kalaram Temple in Nasik. Prime Minister Modi visited Arichalmunai, which is said to be the site of Ram Setu’s construction, one day before to the dedication.

On January 22, after the pran pratishtha, Prime Minister Modi broke his fast to receive the charanamrit from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Khestra’s treasurer, Govind Dev Giri Maharaj.

Veerappa Moily expressed doubts about PM Modi’s fast, stating that if he hadn’t fasted, the sanctum sanctorum may have gotten tainted. “If Modi had performed Pooja in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum without keeping a fast, the location would become tainted and cease to produce (supernatural) power. Modi claims that he has been fasting for 11 days and has only been able to live on soft coconut. His face showed no symptoms of weariness. It’s not me, but others who are wondering whether he kept the fast,” Moily said.

“A doctor who was with me today remarked that no one could live on food alone for eleven days during our morning stroll. It is a miracle if someone has made it through. Therefore, it is unlikely that Modi noticed quickly, according to the former Union minister.

Lahar Singh Siroya, a Rajya Sabha MP, said that if one believes in Lord Ram rather than the Gandhi family, they may fast and live. Veerappa Moily believes that everyone is a phony, just like him, and he travels about pretending to be a famous writer. It’s not about appeasing the Gandhi family; it’s about having trust in Lord Ram and being able to fast and live. Lahar Singh commented on X, “Molly will not receive a Congress ticket to contest from Chikkaballapur despite this attempt to appease the family.”
